Encuentro Milonguero Albuquerque 2022 — September 2-4, 2022

EMAbq 2022 will take place at our new venue, 708 at Fusion, over Labor Day Weekend.
This is an invitational, attendance-limited, role-balanced encuentro for experienced Milonguero Style dancers. The fee of $165/dancer includes four milongas, a guided practica, our Friday evening meet-and-greet, and Saturday brunch. There are no workshops or performances. We play traditional music, and all attendees are expected to respect the codigos of tango. (For a detailed description of the codigos de tango visit the Siempre Milonguero website.)

Everyone Must Apply

If you are interested in joining us this year, please complete the expression of interest to attend/application form and submit it by Sunday, April 10 (11:59pm PDT). 

Given the current enthusiasm for encuentros, it is unlikely that we will be able to accommodate all dancers who wish to attend. We make a sincere effort to include dancers from diverse geographical regions, dedicated milonguero-style dancers who have not attended our encuentro before, and to include single leaders/followers as well as couples. Please note: We ask that those registering as a couple are life couples (e.g. significant others, spouses, long-time dance partners). Single leaders, please apply early so may include as many single followers as possible. On the individual application, we have also included a category  for “switch” dancers, who are willing and able to dance adeptly in either role.

Next Steps

We will contact you to let you know if you are invited to attend, or have been placed on our waiting list. Invited dancers must email us proof of their completed COVID-19 vaccination status AND an electronically signed and dated copy of Encuentro Milonguero Albuquerque’s 2022 Liability Waiver & Release and COVID-19 Attestation form. (The form will be emailed to invitees.) After we have reviewed them, we will send an email with instructions for payment. To reserve your place, payment will be due by June 1, 2022. By submitting payment and the documents previously requested, dancers agree to abide by our COVID-19 safety measures, as well as any government COVID-related safety mandates. Please be aware that this could include wearing masks while dancing.
